# ResetAddressAttribute


Resets the attribute of the specified IP address. For requirements, see [Using reverse DNS for email applications](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/elastic-ip-addresses-eip.html#Using_Elastic_Addressing_Reverse_DNS).

## Request Parameters


The following parameters are for this specific action. For more information about required and optional parameters that are common to all actions, see [Common Query Parameters](CommonParameters.md).

 **AllocationId**   
[EC2-VPC] The allocation ID.  
Type: String  
Required: Yes

 **Attribute**   
The attribute of the IP address.  
Type: String  
Valid Values: `domain-name`   
Required: Yes

 **DryRun**   
Checks whether you have the required permissions for the action, without actually making the request, and provides an error response. If you have the required permissions, the error response is `DryRunOperation`. Otherwise, it is `UnauthorizedOperation`.  
Type: Boolean  
Required: No

The following elements are returned by the service.

 **address**   
Information about the IP address.  
Type: [AddressAttribute](API_AddressAttribute.md) object

 **requestId**   
The ID of the request.  
Type: String
