# UntagResource


Removes tags from the resource.

## Request Syntax

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

 ** [ResourceARN](#API_UntagResource_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="bgw-UntagResource-request-ResourceARN"></a>
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the resource from which to remove tags.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 50. Maximum length of 500.  
Pattern: `arn:(aws|aws-cn|aws-us-gov):backup-gateway(:[a-zA-Z-0-9]+){3}\/[a-zA-Z-0-9]+`   
Required: Yes

 ** [TagKeys](#API_UntagResource_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="bgw-UntagResource-request-TagKeys"></a>
The list of tag keys specifying which tags to remove.  
Type: Array of strings  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Pattern: `([\p{L}\p{Z}\p{N}_.:/=+\-@]*)`   
Required: Yes

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 200 response.

The operation did not succeed because a validation error occurred.

A description of what caused the validation error.
