# Refer a friend in the Wickr client

You can refer a friend to use Wickr in the Wickr client 

Complete the following steps to invite a friend to use Wickr.

1. Sign in to the Wickr client. For more information, see [Sign in to the Wickr client](getting-started.md#sign-in-step2).

1. In the navigation pane, choose ![\[Settings icon\]](http://docs.aws.amazon.com/wickr/latest/userguide/images/icon-wickr-settings-hamburger.png), and then choose **Refer a Friend**.

1. In the **Invite Someone by Mail** window that appears, type the email address of your friend and choose **Invite**.
