# Digital Engineering: Cloud Based Organizational Transformation for IT and Engineering Agility
<a name="digital-engineering-cloud-based-organizational-transformation-for-it-and-engineering-agility"></a>

Most MBSE solutions are based on on-premises siloed solutions - or partially use the benefits of the cloud. Indeed, using cloud technologies is a journey, rather than a binary approach.

The above figure shows a typical journey for an enterprise. We typically see customers start with a *project phase* where they start testing the cloud implementation. Then, the foundation stage has been setup with employing frameworks such as [https://docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/latest/overview-aws-cloud-adoption-framework/overview-aws-cloud-adoption-framework.pdf#introduction](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/latest/overview-aws-cloud-adoption-framework/overview-aws-cloud-adoption-framework.pdf#introduction) such as building **Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE)** and working on **Well-Architected Strategies**.

The next stages of *migration* and *innovation* are when the value of the cloud becomes evident. These are the stages where our customers benefit from differentiated experience.

With migration, customers start utilizing scalability, elasticity and cost savings; generally, via hybrid solutions gradually moving applications from on-premises to cloud. In time, customer start to utilize cloud native technologies via the **experimentation culture** which is enabled via the IaS and IT agility of the cloud.

This kicks in the innovation phase, where customers modernize their applications and add extra features such as **AI/ML technologies, analytics, serverless**, and more.

Hence, in the following section, we divide the MBSE with AWS into two categories; **Migration of MBSE** and **Innovation with MBSE.**
