# CreateRoleMembership


Use `CreateRoleMembership` to add an existing Quick Sight group to an existing role.

## Request Syntax


```
POST /accounts/AwsAccountId/namespaces/Namespace/roles/Role/members/MemberName HTTP/1.1
```

## URI Request Parameters


The request uses the following URI parameters.

 ** [AwsAccountId](#API_CreateRoleMembership_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="QS-CreateRoleMembership-request-uri-AwsAccountId"></a>
The ID for the AWS account that you want to create a group in. The AWS account ID that you provide must be the same AWS account that contains your Amazon Quick Sight account.  
Length Constraints: Fixed length of 12.  
Pattern: `^[0-9]{12}$`   
Required: Yes

 ** [MemberName](#API_CreateRoleMembership_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="QS-CreateRoleMembership-request-uri-MemberName"></a>
The name of the group that you want to add to the role.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\u00FF]+`   
Required: Yes

 ** [Namespace](#API_CreateRoleMembership_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="QS-CreateRoleMembership-request-uri-Namespace"></a>
The namespace that the role belongs to.  
Length Constraints: Maximum length of 64.  
Pattern: `^[a-zA-Z0-9._-]*$`   
Required: Yes

The role that you want to add a group to.  
Valid Values: `ADMIN | AUTHOR | READER | ADMIN_PRO | AUTHOR_PRO | READER_PRO`
