# TagResource
<a name="API_TagResource"></a>

Associates tags with an AWS re:Post Private resource. Currently, the only resource that can be tagged is the private re:Post. If you specify a new tag key for the resource, the tag is appended to the list of tags that are associated with the resource. If you specify a tag key that’s already associated with the resource, the new tag value that you specify replaces the previous value for that tag.

## URI Request Parameters
<a name="API_TagResource_RequestParameters"></a>

The request uses the following URI parameters.

 ** [resourceArn](#API_TagResource_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="repostprivate-TagResource-request-uri-resourceArn"></a>
The ARN of the resource that the tag is associated with.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 20. Maximum length of 2048.  
Required: Yes

## Request Body

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

The list of tag keys and values that must be associated with the resource. You can associate tag keys only, tags (key and values) only, or a combination of tag keys and tags.  
Type: String to string map  
Key Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Key Pattern: `(?!aws:)[a-zA-Z+-=._:/]+`   
Value Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 256.  
Required: Yes

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 200 response with an empty HTTP body.

User does not have sufficient access to perform this action.  
HTTP Status Code: 403

Unexpected error during processing of request.

 ** ResourceNotFoundException **   
Request references a resource which does not exist.    
 ** resourceId **   
The ID of the resource.  
 ** resourceType **   
The type of the resource.
HTTP Status Code: 404

 ** ThrottlingException **   
Request was denied due to request throttling.    
 ** quotaCode **   
The code to identify the quota.  
 ** retryAfterSeconds **   
 Advice to clients on when the call can be safely retried.  
 ** serviceCode **   
The code to identify the service.
HTTP Status Code: 429

 ** ValidationException **   
The input fails to satisfy the constraints specified by an AWS service.    
 ** fieldList **   
The field that caused the error, if applicable.  
 ** reason **   
The reason why the request failed validation.
HTTP Status Code: 400
