Synopsis

Calls the AWS Identity and Access Management ListAttachedUserPolicies API operation.

Description

Lists all managed policies that are attached to the specified IAM user. An IAM user can also have inline policies embedded with it. To list the inline policies for a user, use ListUserPolicies. For information about policies, see Managed policies and inline policies in the IAM User Guide. You can paginate the results using the MaxItems and Marker parameters. You can use the PathPrefix parameter to limit the list of policies to only those matching the specified path prefix. If there are no policies attached to the specified group (or none that match the specified path prefix), the operation returns an empty list.

This cmdlet automatically pages all available results to the pipeline - parameters related to iteration are only needed if you want to manually control the paginated output. To disable autopagination, use -NoAutoIteration.

Note: For scripts written against earlier versions of this module this cmdlet can also be invoked with the alias, Get-IAMAttachedUserPolicies.

-Marker <String>
Use this parameter only when paginating results and only after you receive a response indicating that the results are truncated. Set it to the value of the Marker element in the response that you received to indicate where the next call should start.
Note: This parameter is only used if you are manually controlling output pagination of the service API call.
'Marker' is only returned by the cmdlet when '-Select *' is specified. In order to manually control output pagination, set '-Marker' to null for the first call then set the 'Marker' using the same property output from the previous call for subsequent calls.

-MaxItem <Int32>
Use this only when paginating results to indicate the maximum number of items you want in the response. If additional items exist beyond the maximum you specify, the IsTruncated response element is true.If you do not include this parameter, the number of items defaults to 100. Note that IAM might return fewer results, even when there are more results available. In that case, the IsTruncated response element returns true, and Marker contains a value to include in the subsequent call that tells the service where to continue from.
Note: In AWSPowerShell and AWSPowerShell.NetCore this parameter is used to limit the total number of items returned by the cmdlet.
In AWS.Tools this parameter is simply passed to the service to specify how many items should be returned by each service call.
Pipe the output of this cmdlet into Select-Object -First to terminate retrieving data pages early and control the number of items returned.

By default the cmdlet will auto-iterate and retrieve all results to the pipeline by performing multiple service calls. If set, the cmdlet will retrieve only the next 'page' of results using the value of Marker as the start point.

-PathPrefix <String>
The path prefix for filtering the results. This parameter is optional. If it is not included, it defaults to a slash (/), listing all policies.This parameter allows (through its regex pattern) a string of characters consisting of either a forward slash (/) by itself or a string that must begin and end with forward slashes. In addition, it can contain any ASCII character from the ! (\u0021) through the DEL character (\u007F), including most punctuation characters, digits, and upper and lowercased letters.

-Select <String>
Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'AttachedPolicies'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.IdentityManagement.Model.ListAttachedUserPoliciesResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.IdentityManagement.Model.ListAttachedUserPoliciesResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.

Outputs

Amazon.IdentityManagement.Model.AttachedPolicyType or Amazon.IdentityManagement.Model.ListAttachedUserPoliciesResponse
This cmdlet returns a collection of Amazon.IdentityManagement.Model.AttachedPolicyType objects. The service call response (type Amazon.IdentityManagement.Model.ListAttachedUserPoliciesResponse) can be returned by specifying '-Select *'.

This command returns the names and ARNs of the managed policies for the IAM user named Bob in the AWS account. To see the list of inline policies that are embedded in the IAM user, use the Get-IAMUserPolicyList command.
