Starting with Grafana version 13, *dynamic dashboards* are enabled by default in your Amazon Managed Grafana workspace. Every new and existing dashboard uses the new layout engine, editing experience, and dashboard structure automatically. Your existing dashboards are migrated to the new schema (version 2) the first time you open them, with no manual steps required.

Dynamic dashboards introduce flexible layouts, section-level variables, rules to show or hide content, and a redesigned editing experience built around a sidebar. This topic describes the capabilities that dynamic dashboards add.
