# DeleteConnection

Deletes a connection from the Data Catalog.

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

 ** [CatalogId](#API_DeleteConnection_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="Glue-DeleteConnection-request-CatalogId"></a>
The ID of the Data Catalog in which the connection resides. If none is provided, the AWS account ID is used by default.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\uD7FF\uE000-\uFFFD\uD800\uDC00-\uDBFF\uDFFF\t]*`   
Required: No

The name of the connection to delete.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 255.  
Pattern: `[\u0020-\uD7FF\uE000-\uFFFD\uD800\uDC00-\uDBFF\uDFFF\t]*`   
Required: Yes

## Response Elements

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 200 response with an empty HTTP body.
