

# TagResource

Adds or updates tags for the AWS resource with the specified ARN.

## Request Syntax

## URI Request Parameters
<a name="API_TagResource_RequestParameters"></a>

The request uses the following URI parameters.

 ** [resourceArn](#API_TagResource_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="ivs-TagResource-request-uri-resourceArn"></a>
ARN of the resource for which tags are to be added or updated. The ARN must be URL-encoded.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Pattern: `arn:aws:ivs:[a-z0-9-]+:[0-9]+:[a-z-]/[a-zA-Z0-9-]+`   
Required: Yes

## Request Body

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

Array of tags to be added or updated. Array of maps, each of the form `string:string (key:value)`. See [Best practices and strategies](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/tag-editor/latest/userguide/best-practices-and-strats.html) in *Tagging AWS Resources and Tag Editor* for details, including restrictions that apply to tags and "Tag naming limits and requirements"; Amazon IVS has no service-specific constraints beyond what is documented there.  
Type: String to string map  
Map Entries: Minimum number of 0 items. Maximum number of 50 items.  
Key Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Value Length Constraints: Minimum length of 0. Maximum length of 256.  
Required: Yes
