# Design principles
<a name="design-principles-ops"></a>

The AWS Well-Architected Framework identifies a set of general design principles to facilitate superior design in the cloud. In addition, the following design principles should also be considered for designing and operating telco workloads:
+ **Cross-functional collaboration**: Foster collaboration between network engineers, cloud architects, ISV architects, and security experts to verify efficient communication and knowledge sharing across the organization.
+ **Governance integration**: Systematically assess and verify telco governance frameworks, regulatory mandates, and security requirements across network operations.
+ **Risk-based decision making**: Conduct comprehensive analysis of benefits, risks, and tradeoffs associated with telco workloads to make informed architectural and operational decisions.
+ **Multi-account isolation with interoperability**: Implement a strategic multi-account architecture that effectively separates and isolates telecommunications workloads while maintaining necessary interconnectivity and operational efficiency.
+ **Observability-driven operations**: Design and implement comprehensive observability, traceability, and monitoring frameworks aligned with telecommunications workload requirements and business objectives.
+ **Manage IP addressing effectively**: Implement cloud-native IP address management (IPAM) solutions optimized for telco workloads requiring secondary network interfaces.
+ **Verify resource availability**: Plan for resource availability for scale-out scenarios in telecommunication workloads, considering both new service and run-rate capacity planning.
