# TagResource
<a name="API_TagResource"></a>

Adds or overwrites one or more tags for the specified AWS Agent Registry resource. Tags are key-value pairs that you can use to categorize and manage AWS resources. If a tag with the same key already exists on the resource, the service replaces its value with the value you specify.

## Request Syntax

## URI Request Parameters
<a name="API_TagResource_RequestParameters"></a>

The request uses the following URI parameters.

 ** [resourceArn](#API_TagResource_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="agentregistrycontrol-TagResource-request-uri-resourceArn"></a>
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the resource to tag. Supported resources include registries and registry records.  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 1011.  
Required: Yes

## Request Body

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

 ** [tags](#API_TagResource_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="agentregistrycontrol-TagResource-request-tags"></a>
The tags to apply to the resource, as a map of tag keys to tag values. Tag keys must be unique within the request.  
Type: String to string map  
Map Entries: Maximum number of 50 items.  
Key Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.  
Key Pattern: `[a-zA-Z0-9\s._:/=+@-]*`   
Value Length Constraints: Minimum length of 0. Maximum length of 256.  
Value Pattern: `[a-zA-Z0-9\s._:/=+@-]*`   
Required: Yes

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 204 response with an empty HTTP body.

The caller is not authorized to perform the requested action.  
HTTP Status Code: 403

 ** InternalServerException **   
The request failed due to an unexpected internal error; the caller may retry.  
HTTP Status Code: 500

 ** ResourceNotFoundException **   
The requested resource was not found.  
HTTP Status Code: 404

 ** ServiceQuotaExceededException **   
The request would exceed a service quota.  
HTTP Status Code: 402

 ** ThrottlingException **   
The request was denied due to request throttling; the caller may retry after a delay.  
HTTP Status Code: 429

 ** ValidationException **   
The request failed validation of one or more input fields.    
 ** fieldList **   
The list of input fields that failed validation.  
 ** reason **   
The reason the request failed validation.
HTTP Status Code: 400
