## Who is this for?
<a name="standalone-signup-who-is-this-for"></a>

The direct signup at quick.aws.com is designed for:
+ **Individuals** who want to explore Amazon Quick without creating an AWS account.
+ **Small teams** who need a fast way to get started with AI-powered productivity tools.
+ **Anyone** who wants to try Amazon Quick with a few clicks.

You can sign up with an email address or use an existing Google, Apple, GitHub, or Amazon account. An AWS account is created and managed automatically behind the scenes – you never need to interact with it directly.

## Sign-in options
<a name="standalone-signup-options"></a>

When you sign up at quick.aws.com, you can create your account using:
+ **Email address** – Create an account with any email (covered in this guide).
+ **Google** – Sign in with your Google account.
+ **Apple** – Sign in with your Apple ID.
+ **GitHub** – Sign in with your GitHub account.

## Step-by-step signup procedure

**To sign up for a Amazon Quick Free or Plus account**

1. **Navigate to quick.aws.com.**

Open your web browser and go to [https://quick.aws.com](https://quick.aws.com). You see the Amazon Quick landing page with options to **Sign in** or **Sign up for free**.

1. **Choose **Sign up for free**.**

Choose **Sign up for free** to begin the account creation process. You are redirected to the AWS signup page.

1. **Enter your email address.**

In the email field, type the email address you want to use for your Amazon Quick account. This email becomes your sign-in identity for Amazon Quick.

After entering your email, choose **Continue**.
**Tip**
Use an email address you check regularly. You need to verify it in the next step, and Amazon Quick sends important account notifications to this address.

1. **Enter your name.**

On the next screen, enter your name. This is the display name that other users in your Amazon Quick account see.

Your email address is shown for confirmation. If you need to change it, choose **Change** to go back.

   Choose **Continue** to proceed.

1. **Verify your email address.**

Amazon Quick sends a 6-digit verification code to the email address you provided. Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder if needed) for an email from AWS.

Enter the 6-digit code in the verification field and choose **Continue**.
**Note**
If you don't receive the code, choose **Resend code** to send a new one. The resend option becomes available after a brief countdown.

1. **Create a password.**

Create a password for your account. Your password must meet standard AWS security requirements:
   + At least 8 characters
+ At least one uppercase letter
+ At least one lowercase letter
   + At least one number
+ At least one special character

Enter your password, then re-enter it to confirm. Choose **Continue**.

1. **Wait for account provisioning.**

After setting your password, Amazon Quick provisions your account. You see a "Setting up" screen with a brief message. This process typically takes less than one minute.
**Note**
During this step, Amazon Quick automatically creates and configures an AWS account on your behalf. You don't need to manage this account – it's handled entirely by the service.

1. **Choose how to access Amazon Quick.**

Once provisioning completes, the Welcome page appears. You have two options:
+ **Download for macOS** – Download the Amazon Quick desktop application for your computer.
+ **Continue on web for now** – Start using Amazon Quick immediately in your web browser.

Choose the option that works best for you. You can always download the desktop app later from the **Quick anywhere** menu in your profile settings.

1. **Choose your work focus (Getting Started wizard).**

Amazon Quick presents a Getting Started wizard that helps personalize your experience. You can select one or more work focus topics, or skip this step entirely.

The available work focus topics are:
[\[See the AWS documentation website for more details\]](http://docs.aws.amazon.com/quick/latest/userguide/standalone-signup.html)

Select a topic that matches your primary use case, then choose **Let's go**. Alternatively, choose **Skip and start chatting** to go directly to the chat interface.

1. **Start using Amazon Quick.**

The Amazon Quick chat interface loads. If you selected a work focus topic, you see personalized suggestion cards tailored to your selection. The interface includes:
+ **Left navigation** – Access New chat, Search, Spaces, Research, Chat agents, and More.
+ **Chat input** – Type questions or requests in the **Ask me anything** field.
+ **Attach files** – Upload documents for analysis (up to 20 files, under 50 MB each).
+ **Suggestion cards** – Pre-built prompts based on your selected work focus.

You're now ready to start using Amazon Quick. For information about features and capabilities, see [Getting started with Amazon Quick](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/quicksuite/latest/userguide/getting-started.html).

1. Provisions an **AWS account** that hosts your Quick resources – you don't need to access or manage this account.

1. Sets up your Quick environment with default settings and built-in AI agents.
