# Configuring IPsec using PSK authentication

If you are using PSK for authentication, the steps for configuring IPsec encryption on both FSx for ONTAP and the client are as follows:

1. Enable and configure IPsec on your file system.

1. Install and configure IPsec on your client

1. Configure IPsec for multiple client access
