ParameterGroup
- class aws_cdk.aws_rds.ParameterGroup(scope, id, *, engine, description=None, name=None, parameters=None, removal_policy=None)
Bases:
ResourceA parameter group.
Represents both a cluster parameter group, and an instance parameter group.
- Resource:
AWS::RDS::DBParameterGroup
- ExampleMetadata:
infused
Example:
# plan: backup.BackupPlan # vpc: ec2.Vpc my_table = dynamodb.Table.from_table_name(self, "Table", "myTableName") my_database_instance = rds.DatabaseInstance(self, "DatabaseInstance", engine=rds.DatabaseInstanceEngine.mysql(version=rds.MysqlEngineVersion.VER_8_0_26), vpc=vpc ) my_database_cluster = rds.DatabaseCluster(self, "DatabaseCluster", engine=rds.DatabaseClusterEngine.aurora_mysql(version=rds.AuroraMysqlEngineVersion.VER_2_08_1), credentials=rds.Credentials.from_generated_secret("clusteradmin"), instance_props=rds.InstanceProps( vpc=vpc ) ) my_serverless_cluster = rds.ServerlessCluster(self, "ServerlessCluster", engine=rds.DatabaseClusterEngine.AURORA_POSTGRESQL, parameter_group=rds.ParameterGroup.from_parameter_group_name(self, "ParameterGroup", "default.aurora-postgresql11"), vpc=vpc ) my_cool_construct = Construct(self, "MyCoolConstruct") plan.add_selection("Selection", resources=[ backup.BackupResource.from_dynamo_db_table(my_table), # A DynamoDB table backup.BackupResource.from_rds_database_instance(my_database_instance), # A RDS instance backup.BackupResource.from_rds_database_cluster(my_database_cluster), # A RDS database cluster backup.BackupResource.from_rds_serverless_cluster(my_serverless_cluster), # An Aurora Serverless cluster backup.BackupResource.from_tag("stage", "prod"), # All resources that are tagged stage=prod in the region/account backup.BackupResource.from_construct(my_cool_construct) ] )
- Parameters:
scope (
Construct)id (
str)engine (
IEngine) – The database engine for this parameter group.description (
Optional[str]) – Description for this parameter group. Default: a CDK generated descriptionname (
Optional[str]) – The name of this parameter group. Default: - CloudFormation-generated nameparameters (
Optional[Mapping[str,str]]) – The parameters in this parameter group. Default: - Noneremoval_policy (
Optional[RemovalPolicy]) – The CloudFormation policy to apply when the instance is removed from the stack or replaced during an update. Default: - RemovalPolicy.DESTROY
Methods
- add_parameter(key, value)
Add a parameter to this parameter group.
- Parameters:
key (
str) – The key of the parameter to be added.value (
str) – The value of the parameter to be added.
- Return type:
bool
- apply_removal_policy(policy)
Apply the given removal policy to this resource.
The Removal Policy controls what happens to this resource when it stops being managed by CloudFormation, either because you’ve removed it from the CDK application or because you’ve made a change that requires the resource to be replaced.
The resource can be deleted (
RemovalPolicy.DESTROY), or left in your AWS account for data recovery and cleanup later (RemovalPolicy.RETAIN).- Parameters:
policy (
RemovalPolicy)- Return type:
None
- bind_to_cluster()
Method called when this Parameter Group is used when defining a database cluster.
- Return type:
- bind_to_instance()
Method called when this Parameter Group is used when defining a database instance.
- Return type:
- to_string()
Returns a string representation of this construct.
- Return type:
str
Attributes
- PROPERTY_INJECTION_ID = 'aws-cdk-lib.aws-rds.ParameterGroup'
- env
The environment this resource belongs to.
For resources that are created and managed by the CDK (generally, those created by creating new class instances like Role, Bucket, etc.), this is always the same as the environment of the stack they belong to; however, for imported resources (those obtained from static methods like fromRoleArn, fromBucketName, etc.), that might be different than the stack they were imported into.
- node
The tree node.
- stack
The stack in which this resource is defined.
Static Methods
- classmethod from_parameter_group_name(scope, id, parameter_group_name)
Imports a parameter group.
- Parameters:
scope (
Construct)id (
str)parameter_group_name (
str)
- Return type:
- classmethod is_construct(x)
Checks if
xis a construct.Use this method instead of
instanceofto properly detectConstructinstances, even when the construct library is symlinked.Explanation: in JavaScript, multiple copies of the
constructslibrary on disk are seen as independent, completely different libraries. As a consequence, the classConstructin each copy of theconstructslibrary is seen as a different class, and an instance of one class will not test asinstanceofthe other class.npm installwill not create installations like this, but users may manually symlink construct libraries together or use a monorepo tool: in those cases, multiple copies of theconstructslibrary can be accidentally installed, andinstanceofwill behave unpredictably. It is safest to avoid usinginstanceof, and using this type-testing method instead.- Parameters:
x (
Any) – Any object.- Return type:
bool- Returns:
true if
xis an object created from a class which extendsConstruct.
- classmethod is_owned_resource(construct)
Returns true if the construct was created by CDK, and false otherwise.
- Parameters:
construct (
IConstruct)- Return type:
bool
- classmethod is_resource(construct)
Check whether the given construct is a Resource.
- Parameters:
construct (
IConstruct)- Return type:
bool
