# PipelineLockingMethod

The method MediaLive uses to synchronise pipelines for pipeline output locking.

## Example

// Video-aligned pipeline locking — useful when sources lack reliable timecodes
const locking = medialive.OutputLocking.pipeline({
  method: medialive.PipelineLockingMethod.VIDEO_ALIGNMENT,
});
```

## Properties

- `SOURCE_TIMECODE`: [PipelineLockingMethod](/cdk/api/v2/docs/@aws-cdk_aws-medialive-alpha.PipelineLockingMethod.html) (static) — Use the timecode in the source (the default).

  Requires reliable embedded timecodes.

- `value`: string — The underlying string value passed to CloudFormation.

- `VIDEO_ALIGNMENT`: [PipelineLockingMethod](/cdk/api/v2/docs/@aws-cdk_aws-medialive-alpha.PipelineLockingMethod.html) (static) — Lock frames the encoder identifies as having matching content (visual signature comparison).

  Does not require embedded timecodes; existing timecodes are ignored for locking decisions.
